چکیده

Monitoring hemostasis is now possible by different modalities, of which the point of care devices seem most helpful to the clinician in the operating room. Most of these monitors are being used in the cardiac population, and their significance in other fields remains to be assessed.

Real-Time Electrical Impedimetric Monitoring of Blood Coagulation Process under Temperature and Hematocrit Variations Conducted in a Microfluidic Chip

Blood coagulation is an extremely complicated and dynamic physiological process. Monitoring of blood coagulation is essential to predict the risk of hemorrhage and thrombosis during cardiac surgical procedures. In this study, a high throughput microfluidic chip has been developed for the investigation of the blood coagulation process under temperature and hematocrit variations. Electrical imped...

Preliminary Study of Coagulation Monitoring by Antenna for Treatment during Microwave Coagulation Therapy

Microwave coagulation therapy (MCT) has been employed mainly for treatment of small size tumors. In the treatment, thin microwave antenna is inserted into the tumor and microwave energy heats up the tumor up to at least 60 degrees C for generation of enough coagulated volume including the target tumor. During the microwave radiation, reflection coefficient of treatment antenna changes significa...

Coagulation monitoring: current techniques and clinical use of viscoelastic point-of-care coagulation devices.

Perioperative monitoring of blood coagulation is critical to better understand causes of hemorrhage, to guide hemostatic therapies, and to predict the risk of bleeding during the consecutive anesthetic or surgical procedures. Point-of-care (POC) coagulation monitoring devices assessing the viscoelastic properties of whole blood, i.e., thrombelastography, rotation thrombelastometry, and Sonoclot...

Haemostatic monitoring during postpartum haemorrhage and implications for management

Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) is a major risk factor for maternal morbidity and mortality. PPH has numerous causative factors, which makes its occurrence and severity difficult to predict. Underlying haemostatic imbalances such as consumptive and dilutional coagulopathies may develop during PPH, and can exacerbate bleeding and lead to progression to severe PPH. Monitoring coagulation status in p...

Intraoperative changes in blood coagulation and thrombelastographic monitoring in liver transplantation.

The blood coagulation system of 66 consecutive patients undergoing consecutive liver transplantations was monitored by thrombelastograph and analytic coagulation profile. A poor preoperative coagulation state, decrease in levels of coagulation factors, progressive fibrinolysis, and whole blood clot lysis were observed during the preanhepatic and anhepatic stages of surgery. A further general de...

The temporal pattern of postoperative coagulation status in patients undergoing major liver surgery.

INTRODUCTION After major liver surgery, there are risks of both postoperative bleeding and thrombosis. Routine coagulation monitoring is indicated, but may not provide adequate clinical guidance. Thus, we described the clotting status in a pilot study using broader coagulation testing. We analysed the temporal pattern of coagulation tests to assess whether thromboelastometry (ROTEM®) would impr...
